(Ca-bear-nay Fronk) Wiith the exception of wines made in the Loire Valley in France, few wines are made exclusively from Cabernet Franc. The reds of Chinon. Saumur-Champigny and Bourgeuil are the keys areas. The popular rose wine Cabernet díAnjou (more interesting than ordinary Anjou Rose) is mostly made from Cabernet Franc.
In Bordeaux Cabernet Franc is often added to the ëClaretí blend, where it adds freshness and grassy overtones.
It is used as a single variety in South Africa and some American regions; Washington State, New York State and Australia has a few examples.
